Snowshoes (スノーシュー) are the Western-style version of the Japanese traditional snowshoes (かんじき・kanjiki). Even in snowy forest with heavy snowfall, where walking with regular shoes is challenging, snowshoes reduce the depth of sinking, making exploration much easier. Additionally, the spikes on the soles of the shoes are convenient for climbing slopes.

　Snowshoe trails in the Nikko Yumoto Onsen area are managed and patrolled by local organizations, providing an enjoyable experience for both novices and advanced users in the fluffy winter landscapes. Additionaly, Senjogahara and Kotoku areas are well-known for snowshoeing.
